Warming Up

It's 52 degrees Farenheit (11 degrees Celsius) today and sunny! That's a nice step-up from the day "T" arrived, when it was below freezing and squalling.

On Thursday night, we had dinner with the Swedish National Team. It was a really nice dinner with everyone, but I think "T" needed more to eat. The portions in Europe seem to fit my (Jennie's) appetite well, but "T" needed some more snacks after dinner when we got home. We also met a girl from the Swedish Team that played in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. She participated in the training sessions with the '96 US Team and knew Dawn (Allinger) Lewis. So that was pretty cool.

Yesterday, we had a home game against Kärra HF. It was a close game and we were down by 3 points at half-time. In the 2nd half, we were able to turn things around and got a lot of really great saves from our goalie, Anna. We eventually won the match 29-26.

In addition, yesterday was also Kya's 3rd birthday! Our trainer, Jocke, gave her some stuffed animals, one of which she calls her "baby." At the game, one of our teammates, Kicki, who also has a daughter, gave Kya a present of "My Little Ponies." So she is very happy now.

Because "T" is obsessed with Volvo, the car company, we'll mention this fun fact. If you guys didn't already know, Volvo is a Swedish company. And although Uddevalla is a small town, there is a Volvo factory and this is the only place in the world, where the C70 model is made and shipped out. Now you know.

We'll leave you with a picture of Jocke and his HUGE golden retriever (look how white he is!). Jocke likes to give me a hard time for drinking tea and not coffee because it is so common here.

Yes...that's how it is. It's just easier for people because "Tomuke" is too long or hard for them.
Thanks for ditching me on gmail.
